7.7.08 - Layout Solutions launches new site for Santa Barbara Cal-SOAP
We're pleased to announce the launch of a new site for the Santa Barbara Cal-SOAP Consortium!
Cal-SOAP is a state-funded organization that helps schools & school districts prepare students for college. Their original site contained lots of information, but it lacked a clear structure and was hard to navigate.
For this project, we:
- Made the site simpler and easy to navigate
- Updated the design to look more professional & modern
- Added a Google Search solution for making content easy to find
- Set up Google Apps for easy email hosting & management
- Provided hosting & DNS configuration
- Provided training & consultation
In addition, we developed two custom Web applications for Cal-SOAP:
- Events calendar: Simple application that allows easy creation of events and publishes them to a public calendar.
- RSVP application: Allows Cal-SOAP to publish available sites & time slots for which authenticated users can RSVP.
These applications have helped Cal-SOAP to offload redundant and time-consuming operations to a Web application, saving them time and allowing for more focus on their core competency.
5.9.08 - Layout Solutions redesigns site for Old Mission Santa Barbara
We're really stoked to announce the launch of our redesign for SantaBarbaraMission.org, the official site of the most recognized landmark in Santa Barbara, California, the Old Mission.
We gave Old Mission Santa Barbara the works:
- Total site redesign & rearchitecture
- Domain name recovery & transfer
- Custom Web application for taking retreat rervervation
- Simple online store & donation system
- Content management system that allows multiple users to easily update the site
- Support & training for Mission staff
We feel new design is much more in line with the prestige of this local institution, and the custom technology behind the scenes gives the Mission's administrators a more hands-on role in updating the site.
Layouts Inc. launches e-commerce site for S-ONE Helmet Company
5/9/2008 - Layout Solutions has completed an e-commerce site for the guys over at S-One Helmet Company, a designer and manufacturer of high-quality skateboard helmets.
The goal here was simplicity. S-One has a small staff and they didn't want to add a lot of complexity to their operations.
To address this, Layout Solutions:
- Designed and set up a simple store using ProStores
- Configured S-One's existing PayPal account for easy payment processing
- Provided phone support & training
The store design is minimal but keeps with S-One's style. The layout draws attention to the products while allowing customers to easily find items and complete orders quickly.
Layout Solutions launches redesign of Yes Worldwide
Layout Solutions, Inc. has launched the redesign of Yes Worldwide for acclaimed media coach, Christen Brown.

Layout Solutions, Inc. has launched TacoToaster.com for inventor and entrepreneur, Paul Rubel. The small-scale e-commerce site showcases the Taco Toaster, a cool little device for making crispy tacos in your microwave.
